“Our company received information relative to the recent COBRA changes from many sources. Of all of the information that we received, Yozell’s email summarizing the law, forms and compliance was the clearest indication for my action steps. Yozell’s communication took a confusing piece of legislation and made it clear and non-ambiguous.”

Yozell Associates receives 22% increase from Harvard Pilgrim Health Care
12/03/2010
Like many of our similarly situated small business clients located in Massachusetts, we too have been presented with a double digit health insurance premium increase for January 2011. Efforts by the Patrick Administration and the Massachusetts Division of Insurance to scrutinize requested increases by the health carriers in the Commonwealth this past year have not produced the desired reduction to insurance premiums. In addition, as many of you know, changing from our current health insurance carrier this year will not reduce our 2011 increase. Plan design changes which incorporated upfront deductibles and Health Reimbursement Arrangements in the past did provide temporary rate relief. Unfortunately, the future landscape will include more restrictive provider and hospital networks, along with higher out of pocket costs for employees. We believe the best strategies going forward to minimize the increased financial liability for both employers and employees is through continued education around healthy lifestyles and appropriate use of the healthcare delivery system.
