“Our company received information relative to the recent COBRA changes from many sources. Of all of the information that we received, Yozell’s email summarizing the law, forms and compliance was the clearest indication for my action steps. Yozell’s communication took a confusing piece of legislation and made it clear and non-ambiguous.”

Yozell Associates adopts comprehensive written information security program (“WISP”)

07/12/2010

West Ridge Insurance Agency DBA Yozell Associates is pleased to report that it has implemented policies and procedures to prevent identity theft.  Yozell Associates has adopted a comprehensive written information security program (“WISP”) as required by the Massachusetts Data Security Regulations (201 CMR 17.00) which went into effect on March 1, 2010.  The WISP is designed to implement, technical, administrative and physical safeguards to protect against disclosure or misuse of Personal Information, as defined in the Regulations that Yozell Associates receives from its employees and clients.

Yozell Associates’ WISP addresses the fact that our clients’ Personal Information (PI) is routinely sent to third parties, specifically the insurance carriers with whom we work.

The WISP requires that we take steps to verify that third-party service providers with access to PI in Yozell Associates’ possession have the capacity to protect such information by:

  1. Selecting and retaining service providers that are capable of maintaining safeguards for Yozell Associates’ PI;
  2. Contractually requiring service providers to maintain such safeguards; and
  3. Requiring such third-party service providers to implement and maintain appropriate security measures for PI.

The security of our clients’ information is extremely important to Yozell Associates.  Please contact our Data Security Coordinator, Elizabeth Margolis at 617-345-9643 should you have any questions.
