“Our company received information relative to the recent COBRA changes from many sources. Of all of the information that we received, Yozell’s email summarizing the law, forms and compliance was the clearest indication for my action steps. Yozell’s communication took a confusing piece of legislation and made it clear and non-ambiguous.”

Yozell Associates and Medical Claims Service Present: A HIPAA Privacy Rule Seminar

03/26/2003

On Wednesday, March 26, 2003 Yozell Associates and Medical Claims Service hosted a HIPAA Privacy Rule Seminar, "What Every Employer Needs To Know About Compliance!" The program was very well received and the attendees felt the information was extremely useful. Attendees learned how group health plans (and the employers who sponsor them) and other "covered entities," are required to comply with HIPAA's complex privacy rules by April 2003, or April 2004 (depending on the employer's size).

Marcia S. Wagner of Marcia S. Wagner, Esq. & Associates, P.C., described HIPAA's requirements and the practical steps that every employer should be taking right now to comply with HIPAA. Marcia discussed the basics about protected health information and key compliance dates, and left the group with a clear timeline for "getting compliant."
